Animator vs. Animation... take 2!

It will prompt you if you haven't seen the first (and if you haven't... WHY NOT?)

Very cleverly done!

Over two weeks.... surely not!

Wow, last post I made was on the 6th!

Work is scarily busy, and this week is progressing at a mental pace. It's running like this:
Monday: New NLP course, get in around 11.
Tuesday: Stay late a work, in around 9
Wednesday: Last lesson of Birmingham Adult Education NLP course.
Thursday: Muay Thai (yay for making arms feel all achy and weak!)
Friday: Birmingham Gay and Lesbian Ball, 30 of my fellow colleagues and partners/friends etc are going to represent Freshwinds at the ball. It's going to be a) expensive b) an opportunity to take photos so I can blackmail staff, or make them squirm c) a fun-filled night of entertainment d) all of the above!
Get in around 2am. Just a tad busy this week!

Lose an hour of sleep Saturday night :-( But things will settle down to 2 nights out each week (with lighter evenings... woo!)

In other news...
Fridge has a flaw, it's getting overzealous with the refrigeration. Coleslaw and orange juice has frozen solid despite the thermostat being set to low. Hmmmm....

How to fold a t-shirt - genius!

Goddamnit, those Japanese people and their origami skills.

Once you learn how to do this, you'll never go back to the "old method".

Public service announcement...

I have been slowly building up gregrobson.co.uk into something half-decent. For those who wish to subscribe to its content through the LJ syndicated feed system: add the following to your friends list.

[info]gregrobsonblog

The content is mostly self-development based, with some more "thoughtful" thoughts going in there with some tech and philosophy type stuff thrown in for good measure. Some photo galleries go up their as well. Currently only 4 subscribers (and 1 on bloglines), but it's early days yet as the webstats testify to :-)

In other news...
**dong** Work is very busy, we have lots of volunteers coming on board: it's all good, but very, very busy.
**dong** I have decided to sell my laptop after almost three years of faithful service... I just don't use it enough any more to justify keeping it and the money would be useful.
**dong** Despite not getting any Valentine's today, I am extremely happy to acknowledge that the people that I interact with in my life all have a positive influence and that without them I would be a poorer man. THANK YOU.

Summary of the day...

...snow!

The End.

Well yes, we had the obvious part, snow and gridlock. Apart from that, I left work at 3:30 and ventured through Canon Hill Park (which was deserted... I found this very strange considering nobody was at school!) and managed to get a bus into town to have most delicious Hot Chocolate with Caramel and Whipped Cream :-) Came back by train, which was good as they were quite reliable. It was there I met Corinne! (I always seem to meet people I know at New Street!)

Then after getting home: Snowman Building!!! This was very good with only a few snowballs being thrown.

Some selected pictures of the last two days of snow over at my website!

I am quite tired now and have no plans for tomorrow... I intend to sleep in after a long week at work :-)

meh...

Don't know why but I have developed a sense of apathy over the past few hours.

I can't be bothered to do anything... tagging MP3s, tidying my room and drinking Twinings Hot Chocolate are my only achievements despite having lots of things to do or complete.

Strange. Can't even be bothered to play any music.

It arrived!!!

Just as forecast: SNOW!!!

We closed work at 2:00pm as there wasn't much point staying open in case the weather worsened. So I am now at home and contemplating a walk up to Cannon Hill Park. Got some photos of Bournville already, so some more wouldn't go amiss.

Snow!!!

All forecasts seem to point to snow somewhere between 7 and noon tomorrow! They are so certain that Dudley have closed their schools without even seeing a single flake.

Whilst this is good news for most, it may mean that I am one of the few people who will make it into work tomorrow! Oh well!

The week ahead...

...is going to be busy for sure. Lots planned to be done.

I have done some initial work on planning my first holiday of the year (to the Peak District), it's going to take some advance preparation though.

Health is fine, money is okay (why food costs so much is beyond me!), work is "brisk" to say the least. Apart from that, not much to report!

For those who use LJ as a main communication method...

yes, I am still alive! I know some of you get rather worried if people don't post for a week. I am still here and rather busy at the moment.

Work is busy with new volunteers, a couple of evenings each week have disappeared too. Probably give a better update at the weekend when I intend to stay in, catch up on paperwork and various other things.

Party photos

Party photos are up!

(Clicking on the photos in non-thumbnail view will open up the original in a new window, if you want to grab the high res versions).

No editing applied, they have only been rotated.

Hazaa!

Matt and I have got home through the sobering cold, wind and rain.

Party was excellent, lots of friends and people who I recognise from other parties.

Matt's cakes rocked, with exactly the right proportion of buttercream, sponge and jam.

Nothing completely unexpected and random happened, which was random in itself.

Time to lie in until incredibly (by my standards) late hours of 8 and later Photos to come in the morning.

Body.... aching.....

I went to my first ever Muay Thai class!

It's was like the first day at school all over again!  Definitely good fun... I found several muscle groups that my running and stretches had not touched. With any luck I will be able to build a muscle... who knows!

Brief update...

... just so people don't think I've fallen off the edge of the world.

Work is busy. Lots to do... every day.

Yesterday was slightly fraught as it appears our wireless router developed a "I'm going to slowly become less responsive until I stop responding, even with a default IP address setting". I think our house has sent too much Internet through the router and it has died like the one before it. :-(

Back on my NLP course (the Improvers section), and the week is looking rosy so far!

I like productivity and keeping to resolutions!

Victory of the day: Finally deciding to have a look through the past mobile bills, register with Vodafone online and change my phone price plan.

Good point: The new package (now downsized) should save me approx £252 per year!
Bad point: I wasted an awful lot of money over the past year!

But hey ho... onwards and upwards! Every little helps... as one very profitable organisation would testify to!

Back from Cambridge

Spent 6 hours travelling yesterday, spent 5 hours travelling today. However I claim getting to Cambridge (via London) and back again for a total of £37 a bargain when booked at the last minute. (Thank you Chiltern Off-Peak saver return!)

Tired now.

But it's 2007 (**grins manicaly**)

Almost the end of the year....

This may be my last post of the year! Tomorrow I head down to Cambridge (via London due to Train strikes), this will be my third encounter with "the big city" (even if just breezing through). I plan on taking a few books to crack through (I should finish Rama II by Arthur C. Clarke at the very least). I realise that my journey will take 5 legs (exclusive of walking from one form of transport to the other).

Today I have constructed a new (and more solidly built) bookcase, and moving everything around in my room has helped in throwing a large amount of material away. I've still got odds and ends all over the place, but the bulk of it is back in place.

To those who I will not see on New Year's Eve, have a good night. I hope the resolutions that you make hold strong, and that 2007 is prosperous for you.
